The Black Rose Irish Pub
History of The Black Rose
Written at the end of the 16th century, The Black Rose is one of Ireland’s most legendary political songs. During their never ending battle with the British, the Irish used the lyrics to symbolize their courage and resistance to the opposition. The Black Rose has been used to symbolize the start of new things or a major change in the direction of life.
